32 IPS officers reshuffled in Jharkhand

In what is being viewed as a routine transfer to tone up policing, the Jharkhand Government on Thursday issued movement orders to 32 officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS). The officers given new postings include eight Inspector Generals (IGs), three of them promoted from the Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs). Two Superintendents of Police (SPs) have also been promoted and posted as DIGs.

Ranchi: In what is being viewed as a routine transfer to tone up policing, the Jharkhand Government on Thursday issued movement orders to 32 officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS).

The officers given new postings include eight Inspector Generals (IGs), three of them promoted from the Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs). Two Superintendents of Police (SPs) have also been promoted and posted as DIGs.

Eighteen SPs rank officers have also been shifted to other places.

Under the changed order, RK Mallick, Ranchi zone DIG, have been promoted and posted as the new IG, Operation, while BB Pradhan, who was IG, Training, has been shifted to the Modernisation and Provision unit in the same capacity.

KS Meena, IG (Bokaro), will now be looking after the Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP). Ram Lakhan Prasad, who was the IG, Headquarter, has been moved to the Crime Investigation Department (CID).

Ajay Kumar Singh, IG, Headquarter, has been made the Ranchi IG and given additional charge of Security under the Special Branch.

Naresh Prasad Singh, who was posted as IG, Modernisation, will be the new IG, Headquarter.

Manoj Mishra, who was DIG, Kolhan, have been promoted as IG and posted with the Bokaro range. Prashant Singh has also been promoted to the IG rank and asked to take over as IG, Training.

Navin Kumar Singh (SSP, Jamshedpur) and Laxman Prasad Singh (Commandant, JAP-2 (Tatisilwai) have also been promoted and posted as DIGs, Kolhan and Palamu respectively.

Sampat Meena, DIG, JAP, will be the new DIG, Ranchi. Sidho Hembrom, DIG, Rail, has been moved to the Home Guards and Fire department in the same capacity. Shambhu Nath Jha (DIG, CID) has been transferred as DIG, Vigilance.

Sheetal Oraon (DIG, JAP) has been moved to the CID. Chaibasa SP Akhilesh Jha has been shifted to the Jamshedpur as the SSP. Biglal Oraon, SP, Home Guards, has been made the new SP, Traffic, Ranchi, replacing Kamlesh Kumar, who has been transferred to the CID.

Arun Kumar (SP, Dumka) has been made the new SP of Chaibasa, while Mrityunjay Kumar (SP, Special Branch) has been asked to take over as SP of Ramgarh.

Durga Oraon, Simdega SP, has been transferred as SP, State Crime Record Bureau (SCRB), replacing Baban Singh, who has been posted with the Home Guards.

Hemant Toppo, who was SP, Ramgarh, has been moved to Dumka in the same capacity. Sudhir Kumar Jha, SP, Sahebganj, has been given the additional charge of the JAP-9 located in the same district. Similarly, Pankaj Kamboz, SP, Hazaribag, has been given the additional charge of the Police Training Centre (PTC), Padma.

Anup Bairtharey, Additional SP, Ghatshila, has been promoted and shifted to Simdega as SP. KB Singh (Commandant, JAP-9) will be the new Rail SP, Jamshedpur.

Bholanath Sarkar (Commandant, PTC) has been moved to Deoghar as new commandant of JAP-5. Ranjit Prasad Singh, Commandant of India Reserve Battalion-3, has been shifted to Jamshedpur as new Rural SP, replacing Shashikant Kujur, who has been moved to Hazaribag as commandant of JAP-7.

Amarjit Barihar, who was waiting for posting, and Nagendra Chaudhari, SP, CID, have been posted as new Commandants of JAP-2 (Tatisilwai) and JAP-4 (Bokaro) respectively.

Prashant K Karn, Deputy SP, Vigilance, has been made the SP, In-charge of Vigilance.
