Jammu: Registering a complaint with the police in Jammu has become a hi-tech affair with the state police launching its SMS based service for the same.
Launching the service, Jammu Inspector General of Police Ashok K Gupta said a SMS based Complaint Receiving System was a supplement to Dial 100.
Citizens in Jammu City can sent a SMS based complaint to the PCR Jammu through their mobile phone which will be then forwarded to the concern police station or officer for quick and necessary action.
Citizens can send complaint related to harassment, accidents, traffic jams, strangers, dangers, corruption, ragging and domestic violence without visiting the police station.
Jammu & Kashmir unit of the National Informatics Centre has implemented the software with the technical support of CIPA Team of NIC Andhra Pradesh. This facility would be extended to Srinagar soon.
