Patna: The Commercial Taxes Department is all set to go hi-tech in Bihar. The State Government has decided to constitute an ‘e-mission team’ comprising officials of the department to make it fully computerised and provide up-to-date information to the tax payers.
Under the scheme, the traders would be provided on line Form ‘C’ and Form ‘F’ to pay the taxes on time. The traders can also lodge their complaint, if any, through email and inquire about the steps taken by the department in this regard.
Commercial Taxes Department Principal Secretary S K Majumdar said the modernisation scheme would cost Rs 51.21 crore. While the Central Government has agreed to spend Rs 35.19 crore, the Bihar Government
would spend Rs 15.42 crore on the modernisation scheme, he said.
“We have sought assistance from BELTRON to accomplish the task as scheduled,” the Principal Secretary said, adding that all the divisional and circle offices assigned to collect taxes from the people would be connected with the state headquarters.
At present nine divisional and 49 circle offices have been assigned to collect taxes from the tax payers across the state. Besides, there were also plans to equip the four audit divisions of the department with modern gadgets, Majumdar added.
Referring to the facility to be provided to the tax payers, Majumdar said the businessmen would also be facilitated to file their refund return.
