Chandigarh: In a bid to bring transparency in the land related matters, Haryana government has decided to make all land-related records online, in the state, in the next six-month time.

Land records, of both residential and commercial properties, will be scanned and uploaded on the official website of Haryana Public Works Department.

“During the last few months, we have received many complaints related to land scams in Haryana. To avoid such problems we have decided to make all land records online in the next six months. This project has been started from Panchkula district,” a senior official of Haryana government said.

He added, “This will also help to keep a check on the practice of encroachments in the state. This will also reduce the paper work as all old files will be scanned and uploaded on the official website. New entries will be directly made on the website.”

Besides, this will also help the Haryana residents to check the status of their property records by just clicking on the website.

“We will make our website user-friendly and people can also easily access its content. If they find anything wrong, related to their property status, then they can file an online complaint and it will be rectified in 48 hours,” the official stated.
