Govt IT spending in India to reach $7.2 bn by 2015
New Delhi: Gujarat cadre IAS officer (1981 batch), Rita Teaotia has been appointed new Additional Secretary, Information Technology, in the Government of India.
The post was lying vacant since transfer of Shankar Agarwal (80 batch) to the Defence Ministry last month.
A History post-graduate Rita, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, is currently Principal Secretary and Commissioner in the Rural Development Department in her parent Gujarat cadre.
She was posted as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare during her tenure on central deputation between 2003-2007.
