J Sathyanarayana appointed IT Secretary

J Sathyanarayana has been appointed new IT Secretary in the Government of India. A 1977 batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, he is currently Chief Commissioner in the Land Management Department of Andhra Pradesh. The post has been lying vacant for the last one year after R Chandrasekhar was transferred to the ICT Ministry as Secretary.

New Delhi: J Sathyanarayana has been appointed new IT Secretary in the Government of India. A 1977 batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, he is currently Chief Commissioner in the Land Management Department of Andhra Pradesh.

The post has been lying vacant for the last one year after R Chandrasekhar was transferred to the ICT Ministry as Secretary.

A Physics postgraduate, Sathyanarayana has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Hyderabad based National Institute of Smart Governance (NISG) for five years between 2003-2008. It will be his career’s first assignment at the Centre.
