Patna: The Bihar Government has developed new software to seek on line applications for providing service to the people under Right to Public Service (RTPS) Act.

A senior official of the state government said that the facility to get birth, death, caste, income and residential certificates online would be made available to the people from December 1.

For the purpose, a hyper link would be put up on the website of the general administration department (http:://gad.bih.nic.in). The people would be able to avail the service by using this link, the official said.

As soon as one would open the link, a format would appear on the screen in which one would have to enter one’s name, the service and a mobile number. Once this format is completed a text message with a four digit PIN would be sent onto the mobile of the applicant, the official revealed.

After getting the PIN number, the applicant would have to visit the website again and enter the PIN number. He/she would then have access to the detailed format of the services he/she wants to avail. Once these details are entered, the applicant would have to fill one self declaration form online giving personal details.

After submission of the form, the applicant would get another text in which his unique 18-digit application number would be given. The applicant would be later given information from the office concerned about issuance of his/her certificate, the official explained.

At present, the citizens have to visit the block office concerned to file the applications and wait for their turn to get the certificates. About 50,000 applications under RTPS Act are received at different government offices across the state every day.
