3% government jobs reserved for disabled in Bihar

The government of Bihar has approved three per cent reservation for the disabled in state government jobs

Patna: The government of Bihar has approved three per cent reservation for the disabled in state government jobs.

The Department of Personnel And Administrative Reforms has conveyed this decision to all the appointing authorities in the state.

Disability Act, 1995 provides for reservation for disabled in all government jobs, but quantum of reservation was hanging since years.

Minimum qualifying marks for this category has been fixed at 32 per cent, as it is in case of SCs, STs and women categories.

The three per cent reservation has been equally divided among visually impaired, hearing disabled and physically challenged with minimum 40 per cent disability.
