Bihar police website launched

The website will provide updated information about working, achievement and the data of the incidents of crime reported from different police stations

Patna: All information related to the Bihar Police is now just a click away as the Government of Bihar has launched a new website  of the state police on Wednesday.

Launching the website, the Bihar Director General of Police Sheo Chandra Jha said the modern initiative of the state police would prove a milestone in developing a link between the men in uniform and the masses.

The website would also provide up-to-date information about functioning, achievement and the data of the incidents of crime reported from different police stations.

“It would regularly be up-dated and all the Superintendents of Police (SPs) have been asked to send crime figures and other required information to the state Crime Investigation Department (CID) on monthly basis to provide up-to-date information to the people,” the DGP said.

He added that information of various aspects of the working of the police, performance, future plans and citizen-friendly initiatives would be available on the website.

Jha said there is also a separate section for the district police officials to send confidential information to their seniors.

"At times, you don't have enough time and the information is urgent, you can send it to the state police headquarters to take appropriate action," the DGP added.

He further clarified that the officers can enter secure part of the website and send them immediately, for which they would be issued password.

Inspector General (CID) Rajesh Ranjan said that information related to women issues, naxal activities, recruitment of policemen and convitions would also be available on the website.

He said that four IPS officers—Bhrigu Srinivashan, Sunil Kumar Jha, Sunil Naik and Nishant Kumar Tiwary—have contributed to the launch of the website.

Good Job

this site is very good

Hi, This is a good digital developmental development coming from my home state which obviously gladdends the heart a bit more.

The need for a website of the police for one the most notorious states was a necessary to say the least. Now, my computer savvy breathren can post the FIRs at once perhaps not fearing that somebody will lynch them for the information given to the police about the bad men.

This website might actually teach some of the also apart from citizens criminals to learn computers urgently. Now they would like to have access to clerical officers dealing with e files to settle issues (in a lighter vein).

Good for Bihar and kudos for the IPS officers instrumental in starting this e initiative. More such real developments are the need of the hour for the beleagured state.
