Goa to raise special tourist security force
The Goa Tourism Department is in the process of raising a special tourist security force in the wake of crimes against tourists in the state especially foreign women tourists. Speaking to reporters in Panaji on Tuesday, state Tourism Minister Mickky Pacheco said the force would comprise ex-servicemen specially recruited to safeguard the lakhs of tourists who visit Goa annually.

e-Wastes are indeed a great hazard to the environment, particularly for soil and ground water resources. Many-a-time than not, it contains heavy metals which are toxic to human and animal. When these contaminate soil and reaches to ground water, find their way to food chain. These e-wastes must be disposed off safely. Government may think for some sort of levy to be imposed to the industry which ultimately produces these e-wastes for its safe disposal. It may be argued that the levy will be finally handed over to the customer—so let it be; the soil and water resources and human health are far more important.
