Arup Roy Choudhury is new CMD of NTPC

A civil engineering graduate from BITS, Pilani, he was earlier with the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC)

New Delhi: Arup Roy Choudhury is the new Chairman and Managing Director of state-run utility NTPC.

Roy was earlier with the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC).

'I intend to take NTPC to greater heights towards becoming the largest and best power producer in the world, powering India's growth,' Roy said, addressing NTPC employees on Wednesday.

Roy is a civil engineer. He did engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and has a post graduation degree in management.

Roy Choudhury started his career in 1979 and worked in prominent public and private sector companies such as RITES, IRCON and DLF, reports IANS.
