Centre asks nine states to constitute SHRC

Haryana, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura have no Human Rights Commission office

New Delhi: The Union Government and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) have asked nine states to constitute State Human Rights Commissions (SHRC) at the earliest.

State Human Rights Commissions are yet to be constituted in nine states. These states are Haryana, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura.

State Human Rights Commissions have been constituted in nineteen states so far. These States include Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Sikkim.

Our organization has already started (in 2009) an online(Through our website www.manabhr.ning.com and www.manab.webs.com) CONSENT OBTAINING CAMPAIGN for placing a demand before the State Govt. for constitution of a State Human Rights Commission for the State of Tripura.

so therefore we would be highly obliged if you kindly send me a copy of the aforesaid direction of the central Govt or its URL which will strengthen our demand.
