e-Payment facility for Bihar power consumers soon

The Bihar State Electricity Board has decided to launch online payment of power bills

Patna: Power consumers in Bihar will soon have the online facility to pay up their power bills without waiting for their turn to do the same while standing up in long queues for hours. Currently, the number of power consumers in Bihar is about five lakh.

The Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB) has decided to launch Any Time Payment (ATP) facility for its consumers very soon quite on the pattern of the ATM facility at banks. To begin with, there will be four such ATP counters to be installed in Patna.

"The opening of such ATP centres will remove the huge rush from the BSEB counters and will provide relief to lakhs of consumers who normally have to wait in long queues to pay up their bills," the BSEB Chairman Swapan Mukherjee said.

He informed that the department was also going to start the online facility through which the consumers would be getting their power bills from their own personal computers and added the facility will be available within a fortnight.

Through this facility, he added, the consumers can also get information about their outstanding amount and their amount of payment they have made.

According to an official report, the total number of power consumers in Bihar is 489,098 but the inadequate staffing at the bill counters has often been causing a lot of difficulties to the consumers in making hassle-free payment of their power dues. As of today, there are about 16,550 employees working with the BSEB.

Dear Sir, I appreciate to

Dear Sir,
I appreciate to your step which u are going to take. It shows now our bihar is also growing rapidly. This facility will remove the huge queues at the cash counter. It will prove itself, time saving step for those who dont have time to reach the conter too. But the question is weather it will function in organised manner or not?
There is no doubt that Our State (Bihar) is surging fast but sorry to say in the Gov. instution such as Electricity Offices, Police Stations. Govt. Hospitals etc. the way of providing service is still dull. Nobody is ready to speak & behave properly with the customer and redy to help.

sir this is very good thing u r going to start for e-payment faciliti.so make it fast.
