Haryana villages to have ' digital health walls'

These health walls will display the sex ratio, number of expecting mothers, immunization status and the healthcare facilities available in the village

Chandigarh: Revamping the healthcare system in the state, Haryana government has decided to install ‘health wall’ in every village of the state.

This health wall will display the sex ratio, number of expecting mothers, immunization status and the healthcare facilities available in that village.

This nearly 75-lakh project will be started from Gurgaon district and gradually all other 20 districts will be covered.

“State government has taken many initiatives to improve the sex ratio. We have also enhanced the prize money from Rs 21000 to Rs 51000, which is given to a person who informs about the person involved in sex determination of foetus,” Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner PC Meena said.

“In a bid to keep a tab on the sex ratio and determine the ongoing trend, digital health walls will be installed in all villages. Anybody can access these health walls and check the status of various issues, pertaining to villagers’ health,” Meena stated.

It should be noted that Haryana is struggling with skewed sex ratio for the last many years. Currently there are around 850 girls available for every 1000 boys.

Haryana government has invited tenders from leading IT companies, who are interested in installing these health walls.

The selected company will be responsible for the maintenance of these walls for a period of next three years. This project will be completed in the next three-month time.
