India launches e-Gazette

The new platform will help citizens access and obtain the Gazetted notifications issued by the government online on payment.

New Delhi: The Ministry of Urban Development in India has launched the e-Gazette to help citizens access and obtain the Gazetted notifications issued by the government online on payment of the prescribed price of that notification.

The e-Gazette will also help the media, social activists and many users for various other purposes like research, court cases and settlement of legal documents to a great extent, the Union Minister for Urban Development Jaipal Reddy said.

As part of the modern state of art e-governance concept, the Minister said that e-Gazette will empower citizens and bona fide users as knowledge is power.

Once operationalised, it will reduce the time lag as well as facilitate easy accessibility for the bonafide users all over the country without having to undergo tedious travel.

The Ministry has developed the platform with the help of National Informatics Centre (NIC) and NICSI to maintain Gazette notifications date-wise, month-wise, part-wise and subject-wise belonging to the central government and the Government of NCT of Delhi.

The e-Gazette is expected to bring in more dividends and ensure easy accessibility to the purchaser without their undergoing the rigours of reaching out to the sale counters of the Department of Publication in the Ministry of Urban Development.

It is important that the citizens are able to access the Gazette notifications online. When will you give this facility? It is the right of every citizen to know what laws & regulations their government is implementing. The parliament and the governments are not for some IAS officers to get their salaries and for the politicians to loot. They must be accountable to the people of India. But sadly we hardly have information on what our rulers do. We might as well be ruled by a king. Why have the sham elections?

Please mail me the Gazette of India Part II Section IV Page 530 dated 05 Nov 1983.

Has the Government of India established any system or infrastructure to know the Details/list of GAZETTED OFFICERS in the vicinity or nearest place of their residence (?) so that a Citizen of India can approach him for attestation etc. To know this what is easy way. Provsion must be there or may be if not. Kindly reply.

The ministry should make efforts to make available all the notifications till date.

Probir,

You think our country is developing? I think India would have been a better place under Britishers.

Today in India, only legal terrorism is prospering due to the efforts of government. (Fields like IT are growing because of the sheer population of India and English - which again came from Britishers).

To know about legal terrorism - visit www.saveindianfamily.org.

In short I can tell you - India is ruled by the goons. The police, judiciary, politicians everyone is corrupt. Do you know 95,000 women were arrested in the last 3 years by police without investigation? This is more than 10 times the number that were arrested by the Britishers ever!

It is only through transparent governance and public-private-partnership that our country can develop in the right direction. We need new ideas and new approaches. The present format of development is only getting us into deep trouble as it is not focussed on people or quality of life and caters to people with money and power.
