J&K approves 220 posts in Higher Education Deptt

The posts include both teaching and non teaching cadres for 11 model colleges set up in educationally backward districts under a special scheme

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir cabinet has approved creation of 220 new posts in Higher Education Department in the state. The posts include both teaching and non teaching cadres for 11 model colleges.

The colleges have been set up under 'Establishment of model colleges in educationally backward districts’ scheme.

It also approved posting of Srinagar Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmed as General Administration Department Secretary after the superannuation of MS Khan on January 31.

Meanwhile the Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned over Rs 300 crore for upgrading 279 middle schools in the state this year.
