Railways & DIT join hands for an exhibition train

Exhibition Train will have 17 coaches out of which five will be for the Railway Sports Board and six coaches for the DIT

New Delhi: Ministry of Railways and Department of Information Technology (DIT) will run an exhibition train across India for creating awareness about usefulness of ICT for the citizen and e-Governance.

The train will cover approximately 60 stations and it is based on the theme of Sports and Information Technology. It will start its journey from 6th April 2010 up to October 01, 2010 the end-date coinciding with the opening of the Commonwealth Games, 2010.

Through the train DIT would exhibit and demonstrate its capability, capacity and the work done by its affiliated entities in the field of e-governance, infrastructure, technology relevant to rural India and language interfacing technology by engaging 6 coaches.

 Exhibition Train will have 17 coaches out of which five will be for the Railway Sports Board and six coaches for the DIT. The duration of the exhibition would be 6 months, 6th April 2010 through 1st October 2010, the end-date coinciding with the opening of the Commonwealth Games, 2010.
