Suzlon bags GSPL wind energy project

It will set up, operate and maintain its 52.5 MW wind energy project in the Rajkot and Porbandar districts

New Delhi: Suzlon has won a major order from Gujarat State Petronet (GSPL) to set up, operate and maintain its 52.5 MW wind energy project in the Rajkot and Porbandar districts of Gujarat.

The project is scheduled to be completed and commissioned by July 2010. Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam will purchase the power generated from this project.

GSPL has an existing wind power project of 52.5 MW in the district of Gujarat supplied, set-up and operated by Suzlon since July, 2009.

This new project will take the group’s overall wind power installed capacity to 105 MW, all in the state of Gujarat.
 
The process to register existing wind power project with the UNFCC under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) program is already initiated and will also he followed for the new project.
